Mock-Up iPad 2 Surfaces Online

The internet is awash with iPad 2 news today after Apple finally confirmed it is hosting a launch event for the mooted tablet next Wednesday. That hasn’t stopped the rumour mill from churning though as Japanese blogiBlackBox has posted pictures of what it claims to be an accurate mock-up of the iPad 2.
The spy shots confirm previous reports on the tablet’s features and show it to be a lot thinner and flatter than its predecessor. On the back, we can see a large grill speaker with ‘iPad 2’ written on the casing joined by the familiar Apple logo in the centre. The industry automatically assumed the next-generation iPad would have the number two stuck on the end and these shots further confirm exactly that.
We’ve been hearing for months on end that the iPad 2 could come with two cameras but there’s no obvious sign that the tab has a rear-facing snapper in this mock-up. In the top left corner of the back panel is a circular hole but it isn’t entirely evident that it is a camera. The front of the mock-up tells a slightly better story as a lens can be seen right in the centre of the bezel. As such, it’s probably a safe bet that Facetime video-calling will feature.
Of course, all this is just something else to be added to the mounting hill of speculation, although the rumour stockpiling should come to an end this time next week when the iPad 2 will be finally made official.
